In our quest to be healthy we look for all kinds of nutrients and supplements and shakes and appetite suppressants. We have thousands of options available to us in many different forms. There are the foods we eat, pills to swallow, powders to mix and drinks to drink.

Too often in our quest we forget about one of the most important things we can consume - water. Obviously, a balanced diet of clean foods is imperative for our bodies to properly be fueled to function, but water is just as important. Water is necessary for our bodies to function at their optimum performance level.

Some say that ALL liquids you consume, including soda and juice, count towards your daily intake. I, personally, don't think that should be the case...and I have a reason. I drank a lot of soda and juice for years and drank minimal amounts of water. Regardless of getting plenty of "fluids" the lack of water caused me to get kidney stones...TWICE! (You'd think I would have learned after the first round, huh?) Although my overall ounces consumed in a day (soda & juice) were high, my body needed plain water to function normally.

Here are some benefits to drinking water:

- Flush Out Toxins

- Promote Weigh Loss

- Improves Complexion of Your Skin

- Maintains Digestive Regularity

- Helps Maintain Body Temperature

- Transports Nutrients

There are so many benefits to drinking water. And I get it- it may be boring and flavorless to you. I know it is for me. It's still not my favorite, but adding some things to help flavor it can help (lemon, lime, cucumber, mint, etc.) It is important in our quest to be healthy, we don't neglect taking in water. We should think of water as a necessary nutrient our body needs daily. The benefits of drinking water far outweigh the risks we take by not consuming enough water. So...get up and go drink a big glass of H2O! Cheers!!
