Hi!! I’m Nicole Prater. Thanks for checking out my blog. I am 38 years old, a wife to Jason, a mom of 2 (girl and boy), a runner, and a certified personal trainer. It is my desire to help people establish and maintain healthy habits for their own lives. I believe it is important for us to take care of the bodies God gave us. It ensures that our bodies function the way they were intended and it helps ensure longevity for our lives (and future generations to come).

Me in a nutshell: I love my God, I love my family, I love fitness. I ultimately became a certified personal trainer so that I could help people reach their health and fitness goals. I can be a bit of a perfectionist and like routine. I’m determined, I’m competitive, I’m loyal. I laugh, or act goofy, when I’m uncomfortable. I am super competitive. I am low-maintenance (right Jason?). I love a challenge; I love to push my body to new limits (hello, Marathon!). I love stilettos and I love sneakers, too. I always want to be in God’s will and I want my family to walk in His fullness. I want to raise my kids to be confident in the God that they serve and teach them to honor the body God gave them.

I have started this blog as a way to share knowledge, information, nutrition and fitness tips, stories and my journey. (Thank you, in advance, for following along). So…you remember the perfectionist quality, I mentioned above? I’ve had this domain purchased for a while now. I just never would launch it because it wasn’t perfect. It isn’t perfect. It may never be perfect. I may not have professional photos…yet. I may not have 10 years experience…yet. What I do have is passion to inspire and empower people with the knowledge I have obtained not only through my certification but through my own personal fitness journey. Fitness is so much more than spending time in the gym; fitness is our ability to make good choices regarding nutrition and exercise. It teaches us determination and patience. It increases our strength. We learn about process. These are all principles that carry over into other areas of our lives.

I have just decided that everyone starts somewhere…and this is my somewhere. I have made a commitment to embrace this starting point and to allow beautiful journeys of entrepreneurship unfold. I heard a quote during my workout today- Autumn Calabrese said, “Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.”

That’s a powerful truth that we can all apply to our daily lives. It’s time to stop doubting and to start failing forward. You’ll never know the positive impact you can make on someone’s life if you don’t try. Don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s! Embrace your journey. Own your journey. Share your journey.

Until next time,
